ACIK Architecture and Design Studio was founded in 2011 by Ela Güneş, İlkay Kılınç and Funda Erdemli. The group's professional experience spans 30 years and covers all types and scales of building types, with a focus on shopping centers, office and residential buildings. The team has worked with various architectural, engineering, landscape and project management firms on international projects and has developed projects with lighting, sustainability, fire and infrastructure consultants.
The team's architectural activities include architectural concept design, application design, project coordination, technical specification preparation and application control. ACIK Architecture and Design Studio aims to be able to accurately identify the needs of the client and the user not only in the short term but also in the long term and to produce corresponding solutions as a result of a mutually interactive production process. The studio believes in the contribution of the client, the user, engineering groups and consultants to the project. The studio aims to create a production environment open to the collaboration of all groups. The principles of the studio are to approach each project with a perspective that seeks and questions the new, from spatial relations to the details of material use, and to produce environmentally sensitive, responsible and economical structures.
SHAREHOLDERS
ELIF ELA GUNES (MSc .Architect)
She graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Architecture in 1994 and Master of Architectural Design in 2001.
Between 1994 and 2011, she worked at Çamoğlu Architecture, Arttek Construction, Boran Ekinci Architecture, Era Urbanism and Architecture in the positions of application project manager and concept designer in large-scale projects including shopping centers, mass housing, office buildings.
Since the end of 2011, she has been working as a founding partner in Açık Architecture and Design Studio with the aim of producing environmentally sensitive, responsible and economical buildings with a perspective that seeks and questions the new.
ILKAY KILINC (Architect)
After completing her primary, secondary and high school education in Malatya, she graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Architecture in 1996.
After working for 1 year in Taneri Alppay & Candan Batur architecture office, she worked in ERA Sehircilik, Architecture Consultancy firm in 1997 and worked in various projects (Hypermarket, Warehouse, Shopping Center, Office and Mixed Projects) in different fields (project, construction site, project management, technical specifications) for 14 years.
At the end of 2011, she took part in the establishment of Open Architecture and Design Studio. She continues her work by combining her professional experiences with her "Acik Architecture" identity.
FUNDA ERDEMLİ (Architect)
After completing her primary, secondary and high school education in Ankara, she graduated from METU Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture in 1999.
In 2001, she moved to Istanbul and continued her architectural career in Istanbul. After working in various architectural offices and construction companies, she specialized in shopping centers, mixed projects and offices at ERA Architecture between 2006-2011.
At the end of 2011, she took part in the establishment of Açık Architecture and Design Studio. In her work, she aims to produce accurate, innovative and sustainable solutions with the contribution of all groups related to the project at the end of a process open to communication.
